I’m another Zotero afficionado – I wish I’d been using it for years! It’s really helped me to organise all my research.
Zotero’s greatest feature is the automatic inclusion of things from most databases, e.g. Google Scholar. Thus steps 4, 5, 6, and first half of 7 in your post above are not really necessary. It’s the second bit of 7 – using the little button in the address bar, that I find most useful!

If, like me, you have a heap of disorganised PDFs of journal articles lying about on your hard disk, it’s amazing. I organised my collection of hundreds of random PDFs in less than an hour.

my biggest concern is the video drivers for the 256mb Nvidia, but it seems the few posts I’ve read haven’t run into problems.
